How does RAPID work?
Then, we apply precise pressure while we guide you through active movements, sending a message back to your brain that says, "Hey, it's all good now, you can let this go."
Once that message gets through, your nervous system feels safe enough to turn off the alarm system and re-patterns what it thinks about that area. When that happens, it lets go of those protective holding patterns & things rapidly start working smoother and feeling better—muscles finally relax (or turn back on), blood and lymph flow improve, and your body flushes out old inflammation it’s been holding onto unnecessarily. Treatment can feel pretty intense at times, but that discomfort is actually a good sign—it means your nervous system is getting the stimulation it needs to rewire itself.
We always make sure to stay within your limits, we keep it fun, and we keep the hands-on work to a maximum of 30 minutes during each session so we don’t overwhelm your system. As we work, we continually reassess and adjust the treatment as needed. Some sessions might take the full time reserved, while other sessions could only need about 5-10 minutes to see amazing results! How long each session lasts, and how many sessions it takes to meet specific goals varies from person to person.
Also fantastic for addressing new injuries right away (we work with the soft tissue around the injury), RAPID helps to accelerate recovery, and also makes sure you don’t get stuck in that “alert mode” down the road. Having that alert system is beneficial initially because it triggers inflammation, which is essential for healing injuries. However, also we want to make sure we’re sending "a-little-bit-safer-now" signals to the nervous system throughout the healing process. This way, when the injury is healed, your brain gets the full go-ahead of safety to return to normal function without lingering tension or pain.
